What you can expect

  • An evocative experience combining history, nature, and the starry sky in the heart of Abruzzo. This evening tour allows you to experience the medieval village and the famous Rocca Calascio in a unique setting, away from the crowds and surrounded by the tranquility of the mountains. At night, the fortress becomes even more enchanting: minimal artificial lighting, a panoramic view, and a starry sky that is among the most beautiful in Italy. This experience is designed for those who love romance, night photography, and a touch of mystery… with a dash of adventure!

At an altitude of over 4,790 feet, in the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park, stands Rocca Calascio: the highest fortress in the Apennines, nestled in a landscape that looks like it came straight out of a movie.

In 2019, National Geographic named it one of the 15 most beautiful castles in the world, praising its scenic location and charm.

    During the hike:

    • You will enjoy a challenging trek through the mountains - You will discover the in-depth history of the archaeological zone
    • Starlight observation and landscape photography
    • Experience evocative moments of silence, accompanied only by the sounds of nocturnal birds
    • Breathtaking views illuminated only by the moon

The meeting point is at Calascino Cafè – Strada Provinciale 7, 61 – 67020 Calascio, Italy.
