What you can expect
Experience the tranquillity of rural Norfolk with a self-guided Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) rental on the beautiful, motor-free stretch of the River Waveney. This 2-hour adventure is perfect for all skill levels—whether you’re new to SUP or have paddled before, you’ll find our boards easy to use and stable (good core strength helps).
Begin your journey at Wortwell Mill and head gently upstream toward Mendham, surrounded by lush countryside and vibrant wildlife. Watch for herons, kingfishers, swans, otters, dragonflies, and more as you glide along this scenic stretch.
At the Mendham portage point, simply turn around and enjoy the gentle current downstream for a round-trip adventure. The hub offers private parking, showers (bring your own towel), toilets, and safe storage for valuables.
All equipment is included: your SUP board, paddle, buoyancy jacket, and dry bags/phone pouches if available. Knowledgeable staff will help you feel comfortable and offer route, river, and safety advice before you set out. The peaceful setting, absent of motorized boats, ensures a serene paddle in the heart of nature.
