What you can expect

Most visitors to Djerba spend their days on the coast. This tour goes inland, and stays out until after dark.

This is a private half-day moto tour through the hidden interior and forgotten villages of Djerba, led by Elias, a local who has been riding these roads his entire life. The tour departs from your hotel or Houmt Souk and returns to the same point at the end of the evening. All stops, the local meal, and the final drink are included in the price.

Here is where the afternoon takes you:

Mahboubine — Palm Groves & Open Road
The tour begins by leaving the coast entirely. Dense palm groves close in on both sides of the road as you ride inland. The noise of the tourist strip disappears within minutes. This is where you understand that Djerba has a completely different face.

Sedghiane — Whitewashed Houses & Blue Doors
A village that has looked the same for a century. White walls, blue doors painted in a shade that exists nowhere else, narrow streets that were never built for visitors. Elias walks you through it and points out what you would otherwise miss — the carved details, the family courtyards, the living architecture of a place that hasn't needed to change.

Oualegh — Old Village & UNESCO Mosques
One of the oldest settlements on the island, home to mosques dating back to the 10th century. Their architecture is severe, geometric, and extraordinary — fortress walls built to outlast everything. Elias walks you through the village and around these monuments, the way someone explains a place they grew up next to.

Cheikh Yahya Beach — Sunset & Photos
Timed to arrive as the light turns gold. Cheikh Yahya faces west — an untouched stretch of coastline where the sunsets are the kind that make everything else seem small. This is where the tour slows down completely. Stay as long as the sky gives you something to look at.

Kesra Jerbia — Local Food (optional)
After the sunset, you eat. A full local meal at a place with no English menu and no tourist in sight — the kind of restaurant that exists entirely for the people who live here. This is where Elias brings people he actually wants to feed. food price not included.

Houmt Souk After Dark — One Last Beer
The evening ends in the old port town. One stop at a historic bar that has been serving cold drinks since long before anyone thought to put Djerba on a map. One beer, one conversation, one slow close to an evening that never rushed. Drink price not included.

Total duration: approximately 3 hours. The route is structured but flexible, if you want to linger somewhere longer, or if something along the road is worth a detour, the evening adapts. Just tell Elias.
