The tour begins in Lanquín, where you will be picked up in a local pickup truck, the same means of transportation used by the communities in the region, giving you an authentic experience from the very first moment. As you navigate the river, you will witness the beauty of the Verapaz forest, with unique flora and fauna that only this region can offer.
After rafting with professional local instructors, you will enjoy a traditional lunch prepared by women from the community of Saquijá, with a delicious caldo de gallina criolla (creole chicken broth), handmade tortillas, and a typical hot chocolate drink from the region. Everything is prepared with local, fresh ingredients and lots of love.
