Join us on a quest to find Humpback Whales & dolphins along the South Shore of Kauai! This exciting raft ride will keep you up close and personal with our knowledgeable Captain & Crew. When possible, the boat will be equipped with a hydrophone that will allow you to hear the whale songs when they get close. Humpback whales are here for the winter to have their babies & mate before heading back to Alaska. The whale season on Kauai is like nothing you have ever seen. During the thick of the season, our coastline feels completely filled with whales and the newly born calf. This tour offers you the chance to experience the amazing gentle giants without having to commit to a full day out on the water. We provide snacks and soft drinks! There is no snorkeling on this tour.

What you can expect

December through March is peak humpback whale season in Kauai. Join us on a two-hour whale-watching adventure along Kauai’s southern shore aboard a motorized raft. Learn about humpback whale behavior and biology as you search for these incredible ocean giants, and listen for their songs when conditions allow.

Encounters may include humpback whales and playful dolphins, with opportunities to observe natural behaviors such as breaching, tail slapping, and spouting. This fast, close-to-the-water experience offers an exciting and memorable way to view marine life during whale season.

About the Vessel

  • Rigid-hull inflatable raft

  • 24-foot vessel, similar in size and design to military-style rafts

  • Twin 115 HP outboard motors

  • U.S. Coast Guard–inspected vessel with required safety equipment

  • Licensed captain and CPR- and water-safety–trained crew

Additional Information

Dress casually; guests should expect to get wet from ocean spray

Snorkeling is weather dependent. If conditions are not suitable, your captain will choose the best alternative route for the day’s conditions.
