What you can expect

Visit the Punta Tombo National Reserve, the world's largest colony of Magellanic penguins. Begin the journey from the port in Puerto Madryn, on a 170 km journey to Punta Tombo, showcasing the vast Patagonian aridness along the way.

Upon arrival, visit an Interpretation Center dedicated to the penguins’ life cycle stages and their natural environment. Then, walk among penguins along a 1.5-kilometer trail starting in the Patagonian steppe and reaching the coastal area where the penguins come from the sea to the land.

Watch where these adorable animals refurbish their nests, fulfilling their reproductive cycle and raising their chicks. Admire the vast expanse of the colony, filled with nests in every direction.

See the penguins peacefully coexist with small rodents and kelp gulls, with occasional visits from guanacos and choiques. After completing the tour, head back to the port for a timely return to your cruise ship.
