What you can expect

It all starts with your booking. Once it's made, we'll contact you to confirm your pick-up. Yes, we'll pick you up from your (downtown) hotel so that we can head to the Puno harbor wharf, where we'll board a tourist motorboat. If you're lucky, 2 local musicians will come on board, playing songs in the local language, that is, live music (optional gratuities) such as the Pachamama, so that we can start in a good mood and very happy. Then we'll sail to our first stop, the floating islands of Uros, where local families greet us in their local language, Aymara, saying Kamisaraki. We'll then disembark on the floating island. This island is made of the reed that grows on Lake Titicaca, the TOTORA, so you can see how the president of the island we're visiting builds a model of how a floating island is constructed. Our tour guide will translate and explain step by step.
Then you can visit the inside of the families' small houses, and you'll have free time to take photos wearing the typical clothing of the Uros, buy some local crafts (optional), or simply enjoy the tranquility.
Then, the families will invite you for a ride in the Mercedes Benz of the Uros, a catamaran-type raft made of totora, so you can visit the Capital Island of the Uros, where you can buy snacks, a coca tea, coffee, or go to the restrooms, and then we'll set off for our other destination.
We sail to the open part of Lake Titicaca to reach Taquile Island, a natural island covering 5.5 square kilometers.
With unique features such as:

  • The highest beach in the world.
  • Surreal landscapes.
  • Living culture.
    UNESCO-recognized cultural heritage (textiles).
Upon arriving on the island of Taquile, you can choose to take a walk of approximately 30 minutes to reach the main square of Taquile, where local musicians play and dance in typical clothing. If you wish, you can join them to take some Instagram-worthy videos and photos, and then have some free time to see if you want to buy some local crafts, such as hats or sweaters made by the local community from very fine textiles.
After this activity, you'll move on to a local lunch, where you can try fried trout, a very different seasoning from that of the floating islands of the Uros. During lunch, our tour guide will show and explain the local costumes and customs of this ancient culture.
    Lunch included.
After this, you'll go down to the boat, where we'll return to the city of Puno.
To almost finish this experience, we give you 3 options.
1.- On the way back, you arrive at the floating islands of the Uros and take the sightseeing tour again at a more leisurely pace, so that you can see the sunset on the lake. The tour ends at approximately 6 pm, and you return to your hotel or to the town center.
2.- You arrive in Puno and we take you to the Puma Uta vantage point so you can see the landscape.
3.- You arrive at the harbor and we take you back to your hotel or to the city center.
