Hotel pickup and boat trip on Lake Titicaca
The adventure begins with pick-up from your hotel in downtown Puno at 9:00 AM. We'll head to the harbor to board our boat and begin our cruise on Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable lake. During the trip, the guide will share information about the history, culture, and natural environment of the lake.
VISIT TO THE FLOATING ISLAND OF LOS UROS
After about 30 minutes of sailing, we will arrive at the Uros floating island. Here, you'll meet local families who have kept their traditions alive for generations. You'll be able to interact with the locals, learn how they build their islands with totora reeds, and discover their daily lifestyle.
TOTORA REED BOAT RIDE AND FREE TIME
We'll then take a ride on a traditional totora reed raft to a second floating island. Here you will have some free time to relax, take photos, and enjoy the unique scenery of Lake Titicaca.
LOCAL LUNCH WITH AN UROS FAMILY
A local family will prepare lunch, where you can taste typical local dishes, such as grilled trout made with fresh ingredients from the lake. This culinary experience will give you the chance to learn more about the culture and hospitality of the Uros.
TRADITIONAL FISHING EXPERIENCE
To round off the sightseeing tour, a Uro villager will take you on a fishing boat to a special area of the lake, where you'll take part in a traditional fishing experience with nets. This activity is a unique opportunity to learn an age-old practice that is an essential part of their way of life.
RETURN TO PUNO
At the end of the experience, we will return to the port of Kalapajra and then to your hotel in downtown Puno, concluding the sightseeing tour at approximately 3:00 p.m., leaving you with unforgettable memories of Lake Titicaca and the culture of the Uros people.
