This wonderful navigation through Golfo Nuevo is considered one of the best in the world and offers a significant naturalist experience in the Área Protegida Península Valdés (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). During the excursion, we will learn about the biological cycle of the Southern Right Whale (mating, birth, and calf rearing), as well as the different dynamics of the species' life and survival. Known for its docility, slowness, and curiosity, the Southern Right Whale often approaches incredibly close, allowing us to observe its distinctive skin covered with callosities. Occasionally, they pass under the boat, emit sounds, and if we're lucky, we might witness the spectacular sight of a breach or a tail fluke.
Whale watching tours depart from Puerto Pirámides (within Península Valdés), approximately 100 km from Puerto Madryn. We will sail with the captain, a specialized crew, and bilingual staff who will introduce passengers to the marine and coastal ecosystem. Other animals, such as South American sea lions and a variety of coastal birds, can also be observed.
The semi-rigid boats used for these tours are ideal due to their versatility and ability to get closer to the whales.
