What you can expect

  • Begin with a pickup at 4:00 PM from the meeting point in Puerto Maldonado. Before starting the tour, visit the Plaza de Armas of Puerto Maldonado, where you can observe the local life and the daily atmosphere of the city.

Next, travel to the Tambopata River. Board a boat equipped with a spotlight and explore the riverbanks in search of caimans. Thanks to the light, the eyes of the caimans are easy to spot. At night, see caimans of normal size, around 1 to 1.5 meters, and with a bit of luck, see large adult caimans.
