What you can expect

Your private guide and driver will meet you in your hotel lobby, enjoy an one hour drive to Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, one of the most significant archaeological discoveries of the 20th century. This UNESCO World Heritage Site features over 8,000 life-sized soldiers, horses, and chariots, all buried with China's first emperor, Qin Shi Huang, to protect him in the afterlife.

Spend 2-3 hours to visit to the Terra Cotta Museum where you will explore pits 1, 2, and 3 as well as the impressive Bronze Chariots exhibition – all without getting caught up in any shopping distractions. Pit 1 is the largest and most impressive of all three pits, housing thousands of life-sized terra cotta warriors and horses that were buried with China's first emperor, Qin Shi Huang. Pit 2 offers a more intimate look at the excavation process and showcases intricate details of smaller warrior figurines. Pit 3 displays various bronze artifacts from the Qin dynasty, including weapons and ceremonial vessels. Lastly, the Bronze Chariots exhibit features intricately crafted chariots that were buried alongside the terra cotta army.

Stop for lunch in the local restaurant for an authentic Xi'an style of cuisine.

You're next stop is the Xian Ancient City Wall, which is a historical marvel that dates back over 600 years, built during the Ming Dynasty. This well-preserved city wall stretches for 8.5 miles around the city, making it one of the largest ancient military defense systems in China.

Follow your guide to strolls along the top of the wall to soak in panoramic views of the cityscape and surrounding areas, or opt to rent a bike and cycle along its length (at your own cost).

Move on to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda which is considered as one of the Xi'an History landmarks, a Great Tang dynasty culture relics temple. Built in 652 during the Tang Dynasty by Emperor Gaozong and his empress Wu Zetian, the pagoda was originally constructed to store sacred Buddhist scriptures brought from India by the famous monk Xuanzang. With the help of your knowledgeable guide, learn about the pagoda's history, significance, and the fascinating stories that surround it.

After the tour finished, you will be transferred back to your hotel in downtown Xi'an.
