Upon arrival in Edfu, prepare to be awestruck by the majestic Temple of Edfu, dedicated to Horus.
This temple, considered by many to be the best-preserved cult temple in Egypt, is steeped in ancient myths. It was here that Horus, the falcon-headed god, avenged his father Osiris’s murder by slaying Seth.

This temple is unique, boasting a double entrance, each dedicated to a different divinity: Haroeris, with his falcon head, and Sobek, with his crocodile head.

The Temple of Kom Ombo was built to honor these two deities: Sobek, the crocodile-headed god of fertility and creator of the world, and Haroeris, the ancient falcon-headed Horus. Kom Ombo is also renowned for its vast sugarcane fields.
