What you can expect
Let me take you on an unforgettable culinary journey. I’ll show you Budapest through food and take you through my idea of a perfect Saturday, on any day of the week — market, cooking, wine, and good company.
This is not a rushed tour or a fixed menu.
This is a personal, relaxed food experience, built entirely around you.
What You’ll Do:
Morning Market Visit at Fővám Square
We start the day at Budapest’s most iconic food market, the Great Market Hall, located at Fővám Square. Be part of an immersive cultural experience and see Hungary through the eyes of a local foodie.
Scenic Drive Across the Danube
After the market, we hop into a taxi and ride along the Danube together. On the way, you’ll see some of Budapest’s most famous landmarks, including the Hungarian Parliament Building and the legendary Chain Bridge.
Private Hungarian Cooking Class
Before your visit, we’ll talk online and put together a 3-course-menu tailored for you.
Classic? Vegetarian? Vegan? Gluten-free? Curious but cautious? I’ve got you.
While cooking, we'll snack on:
Local cheeses and sausages
Fresh vegetables and spreads
Homemade bread, jams, and seasonal bites
Everything is hands-on, relaxed, and adjusted to your pace.
Wine Pairing (or Homemade Szörp)
I’m a trained sommelier, so your lunch comes with carefully chosen Hungarian wine pairings.
Not drinking alcohol?
You’ll get top-quality homemade szörp (traditional Hungarian fruit syrup) instead — just as special, just as local.
About Your Host
I’ve been an English teacher for 10 years and now work as a Learning & Development consultant at an international firm — teaching is in my bones.
But my real obsession? Food.
I grew up on a farm. My family ran a grocery store.
We make our own honey, forage mushrooms, grow herbs, ferment vegetables, bake sourdough, and cook every day.
