Begin your journey with a visit to Prison Island, located just half an hour from Stone Town. Famous for its giant tortoises, which have been residing there since 1919 after being brought from Aldabra Seychelles, the island is a perfect spot for snorkeling and sunbathing. Originally a quarantine station, it later became the site for the Stone Town prison built by the British in the 1890s, although the prison was never used. Next, head back to Stone Town for a historical walk through this UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore landmarks such as the Old Market (dating back to 1903), divided into sections for fish, meat, vegetables, fruits, and spices. Visit the House of Wonders (National Museum), Tippu Tip House, the former English Club (Africa House), and the Old Fort.
