Enjoy an exciting wine tasting session in Preveza with a local instructor - wine merchant. Sample a variety of excellent wines from all over Greece, paired with breadsticks and Greek PDO cheeses, in a space specially designed for wine tasting, belonging to one of the most renowned and oldest wine shops in Preveza.
Learn about the history of wine, the various wine-growing regions, and how the climate, the type of grape, and the location affect the taste.
Next, you'll learn how to taste the wines. You interpret wine with all your senses. First, you look at it, observing its color. Then you experience it with your sense of smell before finally tasting it and understanding it with your sense of taste. Throughout your experience, you will taste 2 glasses of white wine, 2 glasses of red wine and 1 glass of rosé wine. Each selection will also be accompanied by a different cheese from our region.
The tasting includes sampling 5 different wines from the country's most renowned wine regions, such as the Peloponnese, Naoussa, etc. You will discuss with the instructor the differences between the various regions, styles and terroirs.
During the tasting, you will discover how to pair the wine with delicious Greek cheeses and breadsticks, and suggestions will be given for pairing the wines to be tasted with corresponding foods and snacks. By the end of the experience, you will have gained an insight into the wonderful world of quality Greek wine. So, you'll get an initial overview of the key characteristics of some varieties and be ready to choose your favorite wine at a Greek restaurant.
