At the beginning, you will meet a local guide and start with a short introduction to recent Czech history. You will quickly understand that Prague is not only historic city center, an area locals jokingly call “Disneyland. After the introduction, we move to one of the coolest neighborhoods in Prague: Holešovice, which has been nominated among the five coolest districts in Europe. We will first visit the backyard of the Prague Centre for Contemporary Art, a hidden cultural spot off the tourist map. Next, you will see a powerful mural dedicated to Milada Horáková, a Czech political prisoner executed by the communist regime. As we continue exploring Holešovice, we will introduce you to the neighborhood, share local stories, and give you tips on where to shop or which bars to visit later. You will also learn about atheism in the Czech Republic and hear about the current situation of the LGBT+ community. You will also learn about the street artist Point, who installs small wooden births all over Prague, and you will spot some of them during the tour. Then we go to hidden skate park with a legal graffiti wall, where many street artists take their first steps. Afterwards, we move to Holešovice Market, a former industrial area once home to a large Vietnamese community. Today, it hosts festivals, parties, markets, exhibitions. Then continue to Vnitroblock, a cool hipster secret café in a former factory, where we take a break. You can shop for unique fashion pieces, try homemade gin from a local distillery, see exhibition or simply admire the murals. Afterwards, you will learn about the Institute of Crypto Anarchy and see murals painted by Dede, Tim Marsh and AEC. The tour ends at Cross Club, a unique community space and home to one of Prague’s most famous techno club. The entire venue is built from old buses, cars, and other recycled metal parts, creating an iconic industrial design. Guide will also share local insider tips, including alternative bars, clubs, galleries, concerts, underground events, and neighborhoods worth exploring after the tour.
