Walkers must book this themselves via the Simplifica.madeira site. This can be done within 48hrs of the activity.

What you can expect

Leave the busy beach behind and head to the almost-abandoned side of the island. Immerse yourself in the unique quietness of the area and the closeness to nature in this lightly-walked area.

Explore a protected reserve, home to many rare endemic plants and invertebrates. Walk along the PR1 Porto Santo walking route along the mountainside path with plenty of protection to a staircase to the top of the second-highest mountain on the island, Pico Branco, with its 480m sea cliff.

Continue along a turn-off to the tree-lined Terra Cha, one of the most incredibly scenic picnic spots on the island.
