Overview

  • Enter a valley where nature and human ambition collide. On this captivating journey, you descend into the deep, wooded Wuppertal to face Germany's highest railway bridge – a steel colossus from the 19th century that forever changed the landscape. We explore the “sublime industrial”: the mixture of awe, insignificance, and panic you feel when standing beneath 5,000 tons of suspended steel. Uncover dark local myths, cross the river with pure muscle power, and find out how Victorian engineers accidentally created a monument to human fear.
