What you can expect
Discover Cade's Cove, a broad, verdant valley surrounded by mountains and one of the most popular destinations in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Enjoy some of the best of the best opportunities for wildlife viewing in the park, and learn more about local life and the history of the area with your expert local guide.
Discover the stories of the previous generations of a once-thriving community and its people with a DVD presentation during the journey to Cade's Cove. Be guided by an East Tennessee local throughout the trip and be sure to ask plenty of questions. Once inside the loop, your guide will provide full narration.
Get your camera ready and be on the lookout for local wildlife. Spot creatures including large numbers of white-tailed deer which are frequently seen, and sightings of black bear, coyote, groundhog, turkey, raccoon, skunk, and other animals which are also possible but never guaranteed. If you spot something of note, let your guide know, and they will attempt to pull over to get good photos when possible.
Drive past a variety of historic buildings, dating from the earliest years of colonial settlement in 1818, including three churches, a working grist mill, barns, log houses, and many other faithfully restored eighteenth and nineteenth-century structures. Arrive back in Pigeon Forge with a greater understanding of the culture and nature of East Tennessee.
