What you can expect

  • Explore the ancient history of Cambodia on a day trip from Phnom Penh. Visit the magnificent twin hills of Phnom Reap and Udong Hill, and see the ancient city of Long Vek.

Be picked up from your hotel in Phnom Penh and transfer to the magnificent twin hills. Walk through the forest to reach the bottom of the stairs and visit the ancient temples of the Pre-Angkorian Era.

Then, move onto Phnom Reap Temple, also known as Prasat Vihear Suor. This relatively new structure was finished in 1998 and is based on the architectural style of Angkor Wat.

Drive to Udong, which was the royal capital between 1618 and 1866 before the capital was moved to Phnom Penh. Walk up the hill over 500 steps and enjoy the countryside view.

These hills were also the site of some of the Khmer Rouge’s most prolonged resistance against the Vietnamese army in 1979. See a memorial to those murdered by the Khmer Rouge.

After that, continue to visit Long Vek, a city in ancient Cambodia. It was the second capital city during the Cambodia's Middle Ages which began after the Khmer Empire's Angkor Era.

The city was known to early European traders as “Cambodia”. The city used to serve as a center of the country's military and was a gathering point for people of knowledge including scholars and martial artists.
