What you can expect

  • If hotel transfer is included in your selected option, your driver will pick you up and take you to the Forodhani area of Stone Town. You will then take a 20-minute boat ride to Prison Island.

    Visit a sanctuary for Aldabra tortoises, one of the world’s largest tortoise species. Weighing up to 200 kilograms, they are also one of the longest-living creatures in the world. The oldest tortoise is over 196 years old. Learn about these giant land tortoises, which were brought to Zanzibar from the Seychelles.

    Also spot peacocks with large, brilliant feathers that symbolize beauty, royalty, and good fortune on Prison Island. Interact with these amazing creatures and take pictures.
