Begin in the lively tea town of Bogawantalawa, nestled among emerald plantations and misty mountain slopes — the heart of Sri Lanka’s “Golden Valley.” Shortly after leaving town, pass the historic Bogawana Tea Factory, a classic colonial‑era estate hub.

Ascend a dramatic, rocky zig‑zag path called Jacob’s Ladder. This climb ventures through a narrow pass and marks a striking change in terrain. After crossing the pass, the dense tea hills give way to wide, open grasslands that feel almost like a different world — dramatic and unexpected in the middle of highland tea country.

Move through Bopaththalawa, a remote valley area with farms, plains, and grazing fields at the foot of Haritha Kanda (Green Mountain). The final kilometers lead through eucalyptus‑lined forest trails and quiet countryside roads down into Dayagama village, the endpoint of the stage.
