- For the sumo experience with former rikishi, we aim to give as many guests as possible the opportunity to participate. If there is exceptionally high demand, participants may be selected at random to ensure safe operations and keep the program within the scheduled time.

What you can expect
Discover authentic sumo in a show supervised by former Grand Sumo Ozeki KONISHIKI and performed by former professional rikishi selected from across Japan.
Watch powerful live bouts just a few meters away and feel the strength and skill of real sumo. Discover its rules, rituals, history, and traditions through an entertaining show for international visitors.
After the show, step into the dohyō and learn basic movements such as shiko and suri-ashi directly from former rikishi. You may also get the chance to challenge a former professional wrestler in a friendly match, one-on-one or with family and friends. Participation is optional.
We aim to include as many guests as possible. If demand is high, challengers may be selected by lottery for safety and scheduling. Children are given priority whenever possible.
Our specially designed mat-based dohyō matches the dimensions of a professional sumo ring and welcomes first-time participants, women, and children.
Before the show, try on a traditional Japanese haori and take photos for free. Premium Kimono Dressing is available as a paid add-on. On selected dates and plans, you can also add a SAMURAI Experience featuring iaido demonstrations with real Japanese swords.
Optional meals include Chanko Nabe, a traditional sumo hot pot inspired by the flavors of the stable where our former rikishi trained, or Wagyu Sukiyaki. Karaage, yakitori, takoyaki, and other dishes are also available to order. Vegetarian and gluten-free meal options are available.
Regular show times are 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM. The main show lasts about 50 minutes, followed by interactive sumo activities and a commemorative photo with the former rikishi. Please arrive about 10 minutes before the start.
Families are welcome! Children aged 7–12 receive discounted tickets, and children aged 6 and under enter free.
Ochiizumibeya is near Rinku Town Station, one train stop from Kansai International Airport. Large luggage storage is available, making visits convenient on arrival or departure days.
