What you can expect

Begin your day with a visit to Nara Park, where you can have intimate interactions with deer, purchase deer fairy shells to feed them, and experience the unique atmosphere of Nara. Spend about 1.5 hours here.

Next, head to Todaiji Temple, located within Nara Park. Walk to the temple and admire the huge Lushena Buddha. Visit buildings such as the Buddha Hall and feel the weight of history. Spend about 1 hour exploring the temple.

In the afternoon, travel to Kyoto and visit Fushimi Inari Shrine. Admire the spectacular Chihoto Torii and choose to climb the mountain for sightseeing according to your physical strength. Spend about 1.5 hours here.

Then, take the city bus No. 80 to Kiyomizu Temple, the oldest temple in Kyoto. Enjoy views of suspended stages and other landscapes. Spend about 1 hour exploring the temple.

After leaving Kiyomizu Temple, walk down along Shimizu Pass to reach Sannianzaka and Ninianzaka. These two streets are full of the ancient capital style of Kyoto, with many specialty shops where you can enjoy snacks while strolling. Spend about 1 hour here.

Next, walk from San Nian Ban Er Nian Ban to Shibabe Koji, a peaceful and quaint path with a strong Japanese style atmosphere. Stroll along and appreciate the traditional buildings along the way, with a travel time of about 30 minutes.

Continue your journey to Gion, a famous geisha district in Kyoto where you can admire traditional architecture and streets. Hanama Koji is a unique alley in Gion, where you can find geishas and experience the nightlife atmosphere of Kyoto. Spend about 1 hour here.

Finally, walk from Hanama Koji to Yasaka Shrine, the headquarters of all Yasaka Shrines in Japan. Visit the architecture of the shrine and experience the atmosphere of one of Japan's three major festivals, the Gion Festival. Spend about 30 minutes here before taking the Keihan tram back to Osaka from Gion Shijo Station near Yasaka Shrine, ending the day's journey.
