Organic chocolate and food forest farm: Until earlies 1990’s, people in Gandoca self-subsisted 100% from traditional farming, fishing and hunting. During this hike around our farm, you will learn about chemical-free farming techniques, multi-crop farming and how important chocolate was for us traditionally. You will also see how chocolate is traditionally made. During this tour, it is common to see the Red Dart Frog, Allayed Viper Snake, and births. Gandoca Lagoon: Immerse yourself in the biggest, most unique, and best-preserved mangrove forest in the South Caribbean of Costa Rica. The best way to experience it is from the water, and that is exactly what we will do in this boat tour through the calm, pristine waters. During this tour, we will have the opportunity to spot three different species of monkeys (Spider, howler and Capuchino monkey), as well as a variety species of birds. After looking for wildlife and touring the lagoon, we will take a swim in the calm, brackish waters.
