Let's get back on the trails together: we're kicking off the new hiking season with an immersion in the wonders of the Alte Madonie. A route that will offer us fresh air, silence, and one of the most expansive views in all of Sicily.
We will leave our cars in the Battaglietta parking lot, a stone's throw from the better-known Piano Battaglia, and walk to the start of our route, heading towards the Scalonazzo trail.
We will walk among beech forests in summer attire, karst sinkholes and traces of ancient seas. Fossils dating back 200 million years will accompany us to the summit, where the panorama will stretch from Mount Etna to the Nebrodi Mountains, all the way to the islands on the horizon.
