What you can expect
Begin your experience with a guided visit to a local farm and organic garden. Learn about the traditional preparation of Pachamanca, which means “earth oven” in Quechua—an ancient Andean cooking technique where meats and vegetables are slowly cooked over hot stones buried underground.
While your Pachamanca is cooking, enjoy a scenic llama walk along ancient Inca trails once used to transport food and supplies across the Andes. Along the way, visit the Andean community of Huilloc and meet local women weavers, who will share their ancestral weaving techniques and traditions that have been passed down for generations.
After the walk, return to enjoy an authentic farm-to-table feast featuring chicken, pork, and lamb, served with native potatoes, sweet potatoes, organic vegetables, fresh salad, traditional sauces, and chicha morada, Peru's refreshing purple corn drink. Alpaca, rabbit, or guinea pig can be arranged upon request.
Most dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice. Lunch is served outdoors with spectacular views of the Sacred Valley mountains.
This 4-hour cultural experience combines authentic Andean cuisine, breathtaking landscapes, llamas, and local traditions, offering an unforgettable glimpse into the living culture of the Andes.
