What you can expect

Begin your adventure at 9:00 AM aboard a comfortable boat with certified captains, cushioned seating, and a canopy to protect from the sun. Cruise through the Northern Gulf of Tribugá, where the tropical rainforest meets the Pacific Ocean in a spectacular fusion of emerald-green mountains, turquoise waters, and golden sand beaches untouched by mass tourism.

Stop at the Jurubirá Archipelago, a cluster of islands surrounded by crystal-clear waters, perfect for appreciating the Pacific’s vibrant marine life. Continue to Utría Inlet, a spectacular bay embraced by rainforest-covered mountains, a sanctuary for countless bird and marine species.

Next, visit Playa Blanca, a stretch of fine white sand where the jungle opens directly onto the sea. Then, head to Morromico Waterfall, a cascade hidden within the rainforest, where fresh mountain water meets the ocean.

From July to November, enjoy a front-row seat to one of nature’s greatest spectacles: the migration of humpback whales. Spend around 30 minutes observing these gentle giants in a responsible, non-intrusive manner, listening to the powerful sound of their breaths and, with luck, seeing them breach the surface.

Throughout the day, step ashore to follow short rainforest trails leading to viewpoints and hidden natural pools. Along the way, enjoy authentic Pacific cuisine at local restaurants (lunch not included; approx. cost 40,000 COP). These meals are prepared by women and men who keep alive the flavors and traditions passed down for generations.

Your local guides will share the stories, legends, and cultural insights that connect this landscape to the people who have called it home for centuries. Learn about the region’s Afro-Colombian roots, the Embera worldview, and the deep spiritual connection between the communities and their natural environment.

This tour is sustainability-certified, directly supporting local livelihoods while protecting the fragile ecosystems of the Pacific coast. It is operated entirely by residents of Nuquí who are committed to preserving their heritage and natural surroundings.
