Nosy Komba is an ancient volcano (Antaninaomby) where it is possible to go on long, beautiful hikes, surrounded by medicinal plants (traditional medicine plays a very important role on Nosy Komba) and wild animals. Within its 25 square kilometers, this island boasts vast open spaces as well as a dense, thick tropical rainforest. The cultivation of vanilla, cacao and pepper is part of what makes this place unique and distinctive. Nosy Komba is protected by large rocks of volcanic origin, with magnificent scenery. The island is covered with lush vegetation, with tall trees that tower above the canopy, evergreen trees, epiphytic plants, and numerous medicinal plants. The walk will take you through plantations of vanilla, cocoa, coffee, pepper, and fruit trees.
