What you can expect

  • (Chosen time) Pick-up from the bus terminal or hotel in downtown Nazca.

We'll set off by transportation to the east of Nazca in search of the Cantalloc Aqueducts, a groundwater collection system, where we'll learn how wise hydrologists from the pre-Columbian era invented an ingenious irrigation system in a place where rain is an almost unknown phenomenon.

Experts in the landscape sought out sources of groundwater to channel it to their farmland, thereby enabling them to tame one of the most inhospitable environments on the planet. Next, we will visit the Needle Geoglyph, which, according to researcher David Johnson, is linked to an important source of groundwater in the area.

We'll end our tour at the Paredones Administrative Center, an Inca administrative center near Nazca, established around 1470. Initially built in adobe and later in stone, it facilitated administrative control and connectivity between the Coast and the Highlands.

At the end of the excursion, transfer to the bus terminal or hotel in downtown Nazca.
