What you can expect

  • Discover Osaka beyond the city, just 30 minutes from central Osaka, where mountain temples, scenic waterfalls, and traditional Japanese farmhouses reveal a quieter side of Japan.

Begin at Katsuoji Temple, a historic mountain sanctuary with nearly 1,300 years of history. Known as the Temple of Victory, its grounds are filled with thousands of red daruma dolls, symbols of perseverance and good fortune.

Next, explore the natural beauty of Minoh Falls. Follow a scenic forest trail alongside the river to a spectacular 33-meter waterfall, one of Osaka's most picturesque natural attractions.

Finish at the Open-Air Museum of Old Japanese Farmhouses, where traditional houses from across Japan have been carefully preserved. Discover centuries-old architecture, thatched roofs, and the everyday lives of rural communities.
