What you can expect

Step entirely off the rigid mass-tourist tracks and experience Mumbai like a local. This immersive day tour moves chronologically through time, tracing the city's spectacular evolution from a quiet cluster of indigenous fishing islands, through the grand colonial “British Bombay” era, and into today's hyper-paced global megapolis.

To make your experience truly memorable, this tour is led by professional Mumbai theatre actors who are trained storytellers. You will explore Mumbai just like a local which is riding the famous local trains, traveling in the city's iconic black-and-yellow taxis and walking through hidden lanes that most visitors never see. Along the way, you'll enjoy two of Mumbai's most popular street foods, authentic Vada Pav and Pav Bhaji, from trusted local vendors known for their quality and hygiene. Pleas read the detailed tour breakdown below:

Act 1: Imperial Bombay & Colonial Heritage Walking Tour (2 Hours)
Locations Covered: Gateway of India, Colaba Causeway, Naval Dockyard, Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) & Dalal Street, Horniman Circle Garden, St. Thomas Cathedral, Flora Fountain, Hutatma Chowk (Martyrs Memorial), Bombay High Court, Mumbai University, Oval Ground, Marine Drive.

What to expect:
Meet your theatre-trained guide at the Gateway of India. We begin by exploring the history of Mumbai, from the 16th and 17th centuries to the time it became British Bombay. Walk through areas filled with colonial buildings, Gothic and Art Deco architecture, and learn stories behind them. Watch local cricket at Oval Ground and enjoy a walk along the Marine Drive promenade by the sea.

Act 2: Local Transport & Street Food Experience (1 Hour)
Locations Covered: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT/CST), Aram Vada Pav, Cannon Pav Bhaji.

What we'll do:
Experience the fast pace of Mumbai life. Ride a black-and-yellow taxi to the UNESCO-listed CSMT station. Before entering, enjoy two of Mumbai’s most famous street foods—Vada Pav from Aram and Pav Bhaji from Cannon. Then take a short ride on a Mumbai local train, just like daily commuters.

Act 3: Bombay Black – Markets & Street Photography (1.5 Hours)
Locations covered: Sandhurst Road, Chor Bazaar.

What we'll do:
Get off at Sandhurst Road and take a short cab ride to Chor Bazaar, one of Mumbai’s oldest markets. Walk through narrow lanes filled with vintage items, Bollywood posters, antiques, and old buildings. This is a great place for photography and to see the city’s raw, local side.

Act 4: Bom Bahia – Fishing Village & Sunset at Worli Fort (1 Hour)
Locations covered: Worli Business District, Worli Sea Face, Worli Koliwada, Worli Fort.

What we'll do:
Drive past modern skyscrapers along Worli Sea Face and reach Worli Fishing Village. Walk through the traditional lanes of the local fishing community. Climb up the 17th-century Worli Fort and enjoy a sunset view over the Arabian Sea, with a clear view of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.
