Your guide will meet you at your pickup address in Tbilisi, and your tour will begin.
Our first stop is Jvari Monastery, an ancient temple that dates back to the 6th century AD. It is located near the old capital of Georgia, Mtskheta, on the top of a high mountain offering breathtaking panoramic views of the confluence of the Aragvi and Kura rivers.
The monastery attracts thousands of visitors every year for its remarkable architecture, stunning location, and great historical and spiritual value. The name Jvari means “Cross” in Georgian and has a fascinating story that we will share with you during the visit.
Next, we continue to the ancient capital of Georgia — Mtskheta, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mtskheta has been inhabited for more than 2,600 years and once served as the capital of the early Georgian Kingdom of Iberia.
From the parking area, we will walk to the historical center of Mtskheta, passing through its charming narrow streets filled with souvenir shops, wine tastings, and traditional Georgian sweets. The highlight of our visit will be the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, the burial site of Christ’s Robe and one of the most sacred and revered places in Georgia.
Our final stop is The Chronicles of Georgia, a massive stone monument often referred to as the “Georgian Stonehenge” or “Georgian History Memorial.” This impressive structure, designed by the renowned sculptor Zurab Tsereteli, depicts scenes from over 3,000 years of Georgian history.
It consists of 16 gigantic columns, each rising to about 35 meters, featuring the most famous kings, queens, and heroes of Georgia. Along with its artistic and historical significance, the monument also offers a stunning panoramic view of Tbilisi Sea (Tbilisi Lake) — a perfect place to end the tour with memorable photos.
