Overview

  • Explore Monteverde’s rainforest after dark on a two-hour small-group walk led by a local naturalist guide. Search the trees and forest floor for nocturnal wildlife such as two-toed sloths, frogs, sleeping toucans, owls, armadillos, kinkajous, snakes, tarantulas, scorpions, and stick insects. Sightings vary because all wildlife is wild.

    A rechargeable flashlight is provided, and your guide uses a professional HD spotting scope for detailed observation and smartphone photos when conditions allow. Limited to eight travelers, the tour offers a personal and comfortable experience.

    The trail is generally easy to moderate but may be muddy, uneven, or uphill. Closed-toe shoes and a rain jacket are recommended. The tour takes place at Finca Lantana, near Santa Elena and Cerro Plano. Admission and optional transportation are not included unless stated in your selected option.
