What you can expect

  • Most visitors see the Malecon and go back to the hotel. In one day, you'll see the Puerto Vallarta most people miss: Old Town on foot, the jungle coastline by van, and a tequila tasting in a riverside village at the foot of the Sierra Madre.

Walk the Malecon and its sculptures with a certified bilingual guide, visit the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the house where Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton lived, and shop the municipal market. Then ride the coast south past Los Arcos and Mismaloya to Las Juntas y Los Veranos for lunch by the river and a tequila tasting.

No surprises: pickup is 7:45 to 10:00 am depending on your hotel, and you're back 5:30 to 6:15 pm. We stop at a jewelry shop with a free drink and restrooms; buying is optional. Lunch is not included and is paid at the restaurant.
