What you can expect
Enjoy a profound and enriching experience in the spiritual heart of Mexico on this walking tour of the Marian site of Tepeyac. We'll begin with a detailed explanation of the Guadalupano Code, a symbolic and cultural message that reveals the historical importance of the apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Afterwards, we will go outside the basilica to receive the priest's blessing, a special moment for those who wish to start the tour with intention and peace.
Next, we will visit the New Basilica, where you can admire the original tilma of Juan Diego, carefully preserved on the main altar. Later, we'll explore the Old Basilica, an architectural jewel that showcases the history and the passage of time in this sacred area.
The tour continues through the gardens of Tepeyac as we ascend the hill to reach the Capilla del Cerrito, the place where the third apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe is commemorated. From there, we'll begin the descent through the gardens and fountains of the grounds to head to the Capilla del Pósito, where the second apparition is commemorated.
Finally, we'll arrive at the Old Chapel of the Indians, a site that honors the first appearance of the Virgin to Juan Diego, thus completing a tour full of history, culture, spirituality, and natural beauty. At the end of the sightseeing tour, you will be given your tickets so you can enjoy the Museo Guadalupano at your own pace. After 5 PM, the temples begin to close at different times, as does the museum. It is advisable to take the tour before 4 PM if you want to see the whole place.
