What you can expect

Discover the protected coast of Menorca on a kayaking and snorkeling experience inside the s'Albufera des Grau Natural Park, a site included in the European Natura 2000 Network. In 3 hours, you'll combine an easy kayak tour with a guided snorkel session in one of the island's most ecologically valuable marine areas, famous for its extensive Posidonia (Posidonia oceanica) meadows.

It starts with meeting your instructor-guide and a brief explanation about the route, safety, and the natural environment. Afterwards, you'll paddle towards the area of Sa Torreta and the island of d'en Colom, an area with a large presence of Posidonia, a key habitat in the Mediterranean that helps keep the sea in good condition and serves as a refuge for numerous species.

Before you go into the water, the guide will give you an educational introduction about what you can see under the sea. With the help of practical fact sheets, you'll learn to recognize the local flora and fauna and understand why each species plays an important role within this protected ecosystem. Then it's time to snorkel with a mask and tube, always with the instructor nearby to accompany you and help you interpret what you're observing.

The activity ends with the drop-off by kayak at the starting point, with time to wrap up the experience and answer questions about the park and conservation.
