Join us and discover a more local side of Comuna 13 in the residential neighborhood of La Pradera, a part of Medellín that still feels authentic and lived-in, away from the busiest tourist paths. We keep our groups small so the experience stays personal and relaxed.
We meet at the exit of Juan XXIII Metrocable station, which you can reach by taking the cable car from San Javier while enjoying incredible views over Medellín. From there, we take a short walk through La Pradera, a neighborhood that has transformed significantly in recent years and is now a peaceful and welcoming place to experience everyday local life.
After the walk, we'll arrive at our little workshop, where a local chef will guide you step by step in making one of Colombia’s most iconic street foods: the empanada. You’ll prepare everything from scratch—shaping the dough, making the fillings, and learning traditional sauces—so you can easily recreate them at home after your trip.
To finish, we’ll sit down together to enjoy the empanadas you’ve made, paired with a refreshing drink, and take in views of Medellín while sharing stories about food, culture, and daily life in Colombia.
