Know before you book

    • Not allowed: Touching marine life

What you can expect

  • Escape the resort bubbles and experience the real Maldives. Based on the beautiful local island of Dhangethi, nestled in the world-renowned South Ari Atoll, this flexible multi-day marine adventure places you right in the heart of megafauna territory. South Ari Atoll is one of the rare places on Earth where whale sharks and manta rays can be spotted year-round.

Your days will be filled with adrenaline and awe as expert local guides track these gentle giants. Jump into the crystal-clear turquoise waters to snorkel side-by-side with whale sharks reaching up to 10 meters in length, and glide effortlessly above dancing manta rays as they feed on plankton.

When you aren’t in the water chasing big marine life, you’ll be relaxing on Dhangethi’s powdery white beaches, discovering traditional Maldivian island life, and enjoying fresh local cuisine. Whether you are a solo traveler, a couple, or a family, this immersive itinerary balances thrilling ocean safaris with peaceful island relaxation.

Day 1: Arrival and Island Welcome
Board the scenic afternoon speedboat from Malé to Dhangethi Island (approx. 1.5 to 2 hours). Check into your local guesthouse, enjoy a refreshing welcome drink, and take a guided evening walking tour of the village. Watch the sunset on the beach and settle into the relaxed island rhythm.

Day 2: The Whale Shark and Manta Ray Safari
Fuel up with a delicious breakfast before boarding a custom dhoni or speedboat. Head to the marine protected areas to scout for whale sharks and manta rays. Spend the day snorkeling with these ocean giants, guided by certified marine professionals.

Day 3: Coral Reef Exploration and Beach Relaxation
Enjoy your morning breakfast before heading out for a second boat excursion to a vibrant local reef to spot sea turtles, reef sharks, and colorful tropical fish. Spend the afternoon at your leisure—relax on the pristine bikini beach, try optional water sports, or explore the local shops.

Day 4: Island Farewell and Departure
Savor your final breakfast on the island and take a morning walk along the beach to pack. Catch the scheduled speedboat back to Malé or Velana International Airport, carrying memories of an unforgettable Maldivian adventure.
