What you can expect
Visit the State Museum at Majdanek and take a guided tour of the Majdanek death camp, with full transport from Warsaw. Gain a deeper understanding of the Holocaust through the museum’s informative exhibitions.
Reflect upon the immense tragedy of the Holocaust with a visit to the Majdanek National Museum, located on the site of the concentration camp in Lublin. Your guide will pick you up from your accommodations in Warsaw and drive you to Lublin. Enter the museum through the memorial gate, consisting of a symbolic Pylon evocative of mangled bodies.
Learn about the grim history of the camp and the people who were murdered there from your professional tour guide. The museum contains several different exhibits located in the former barracks of the camp which detail the creation and operation of the camp, as well as commemorating its victims. Majdanek is notable for being captured by the Red Army nearly intact. Because it wasn’t destroyed by the Nazis in an attempt to cover up their war crimes, Majdanek offers unique insight to their brutal regime.
See the gas chambers, showers, and crematoriums where thousands of Jews, Poles, Russians, Belorussians, and Ukrainians lost their lives. Pay your respects to the dead at the Mausoleum which contain the ashes of the camp's victims. After a day of sobering reflection, dine at a local restaurant. After lunch, you will be driven back to Warsaw.
