What you can expect

  • Join us for a tour through fascinating Madrid, filled with history and culinary delights, celebrated for its outstanding museums and vibrant atmosphere.

From its origins as the Arabic “Mayrit,” meaning “a place of abundant water,” Madrid was transformed into a grand city under the Habsburgs, becoming the sprawling empire's political hub. Its growth continued under the Bourbons, especially under Charles III, who modernised Madrid and paved its way into a leading European metropolis.

Our tour will start close to the Royal Palace, a testament to Madrid’s regal past, and move to Almudena Cathedral, known for its varied neo-styles. We'll then explore Plaza de la Villa to see architectural styles spanning three centuries, as well Plaza Mayor, the site of historical events from Inquisition trials to royal celebrations. Next, we will head to Puerta del Sol, the city's bustling centre, and pass by the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, where masters like Goya once studied. We will learn about the magnificent Gran Via and modernisation of the city in the 19th century and see the Prado Museum. We will finish the tour at the Congress of Deputies, where Spanish democracy was once tested.

During this 2,5 hour tour you will see:

    Royal Palace
    Almudena Cathedral
    Plaza de la Villa
    Plaza Mayor
    Puerta del Sol
    Royal Academy of Fine Arts
    Gran Vía
    El Prado Museum
    Congress of Deputies
    and much, much more!
