Over the course of approximately two hours, you will enjoy a tasting session during which you will sample 4 styles of Spanish craft beers, each carefully paired with a selection of cheeses from around the world chosen for their contrasts and harmonies.
The experience goes far beyond eating and drinking. We will begin by exploring the history of beer and its evolution up to the current craft beer scene in Spain. You will learn about its main ingredientsāwater, malt, hops, and yeastāand taste 8 real ingredients to understand how they influence the aroma, flavor, body, and finish of each beer.
You will learn how beer is made, from the selection of raw ingredients to fermentation and maturation, and you will discover how to serve it correctly to bring out its best qualities. I will also teach you, step by step, how to taste beer, which senses are involved in the experience, and how we identify basic tastes and actually perceive flavor in our mouths.
Each of the four Spanish craft beers will be paired with a different cheese, carefully selected to demonstrate how carbonation, bitterness, texture, or intensity can completely transform the way the cheese is perceived. You will understand why beer can be even more versatile than any other beverage when it comes to pairing.
