E-bikes allow everyone, even those who are not fit, to enjoy an active and fulfilling experience, maintaining the right balance between sport and relaxation. Thanks to pedal assist, you can tackle climbs, dirt roads and scenic routes with ease, reach spectacular places surrounded by nature and visit the attractions and ancient villages of San Mauro Castelverde along one of the famous “Vie del grano” (Wheat Roads) described by the historian Cicero in the “Verrine”. The route, which is about 40 km long, starts at 1000 m above sea level at Zipline Sicilia, where each participant can choose their preferred type of flight and enjoy an adrenaline-pumping experience at speeds of up to 130 km/h. The Zipline is accessible from 12 years of age with a minimum weight of 35/40 kg and a maximum weight of 125/130 kg. The possible types of flight are: the angel flight or the classic flight, which is relaxed and faster (single or couple if the combined weight does not exceed 150 kg); the seat flight or the seated flight, which is slower and more scenic; and the Free Style flight, which is a flight in total freedom with free legs and arms and the possibility of flipping over and turning 360 degrees. Alternatively, or by paying for an additional ticket, you can take a flight on Europe's tallest Giant Swing. The giant swing is accessible from 8 years of age with a minimum height of 4 foot (1.2 meters), a maximum waist size of 47 inches (120 cm), and a maximum weight of 287 pounds (130 kg). You can fly alone, in pairs, or in groups of three at the same time. The tour continues for 14 km to the Gole di Tiberio, at 350 m above sea level, a UNESCO geosite of extraordinary beauty: a natural canyon that can be crossed by inflatable boat and on foot, among caves, rock faces and small lakes. The excursion lasts 2 hours and includes crossing the Gorge by inflatable boat and a walk along the Pollina River which, depending on the season, takes place downstream to the small gorge or upstream to the ponds; in both cases, it is possible to swim. Along the route, you can admire the flora and fauna typical of the river environment. Inside the Gorge, which is about 400 meters long, you can see: fossils, U miricu, birds' nests, the bandits' boulder, plays of light, and unspoiled, wild vegetation immersed in silence. From the Gorges to the Calabrò junction that leads back to the starting point, you will pass the hamlets of Tiberio, Karsa, Casale Botindari, typical for its square with sundials, circular drinking trough, and outdoor ovens, and Malia, where we recommend stopping under the centuries-old manna ash tree to cool off with the fresh water from the ancient drinking trough. During the experience, you'll meet the locals, the living and most authentic part of inland Sicily.
