Lisbon saves its best light for the end of the day. On this cruise you see it from the river, on a catamaran with only your group on board: up to 14 friends or family, your own music and a skipper who knows exactly where to be when the sun goes down.
You don’t need to check sunset times. Our departures move through the year, so you’re always on the water at the right moment. We meet at Doca de Bel ém, a few steps from the Monument to the Discoveries. Once aboard, the crew gives a short safety briefing and opens your welcome bottle: choose white, rosé, vinho verde or sparkling wine.
THE ROUTE
Over two hours, we sail past Belém Tower and the MAAT, under the 25 de Abril Bridge and along the riverfront to Cristo Rei, Praça do Comércio and the rooftops of Alfama. As the sky turns orange, we head back west towards Belém, with the bridge and the sunset in front of you.
LIFE ON BOARD
Most guests head straight for the flybridge: a fully cushioned deck about 3.5 m above the water, with an open view in every direction. Up front, two big loungers and two dolphin seats sit right above the waves. Below, there is a shaded aft deck with an outdoor table and chairs, an indoor lounge with a table and sofa, a bathroom and a cabin to leave your bags. There are blankets on board for when it gets cool after sunset. Plug your phone into the Bluetooth speakers and set the soundtrack for the evening.

Book ahead and we’ll have it ready: sharing boards and Portuguese tapas, sushi, an open bar with cocktails made by our crew, a live DJ or saxophonist, or decorations for birthdays, romantic surprises and bachelorette parties. You’ll receive the full menu after booking.

WHO WE ARE
Royal Marine Boat Tours was started in 2018 by brothers Miguel and Pedro, who were 18 and 21 when they rebuilt their first catamaran by hand. We are a licensed tour operator (RNAAT 1940/2018), Clean & Safe certified and a Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice winner in 2022, 2023 and 2024. Our crew speaks English, Portuguese and Spanish.
The price is for the whole boat. Split between 14 people, it costs about €31 each.
