Meet your local guide at Paddle Wānaka before getting fitted with your kayak and safety equipment. After a short safety briefing, launch onto Lake Wānaka and begin exploring the scenic waters of Roy’s Bay. The approximately 7-km route is guided at a comfortable pace, allowing plenty of time to enjoy the scenery, take photos and learn about the area. Your guide will share local knowledge and stories about Lake Wānaka and its surrounding mountains throughout the experience. Depending on weather and lake conditions, the route may include views towards the famous Wānaka Tree and Ruby Island. An optional short walk or exploration stop may also be included, giving you a chance to step out of the kayak and experience more of the lake environment. The route is adapted to the weather, lake conditions and ability of the group. The experience is suitable for beginners and confident paddlers, with your guide providing assistance throughout. After the kayaking adventure, return to Paddle Wānaka at the original meeting point.
