What you can expect
We leave Manchester behind and head north to the stunning Lake District. Entering the Lake District National Park, you'll be surrounded by sparkling lakes, rugged mountains, and ancient woodlands—an area that has inspired poets like William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter.
Our first stop is Bowness, located on the shores of Lake Windermere. Here, you can enjoy a relaxing 45-minute boat cruise on the lake or explore the town and take in the spectacular views.
The journey continues through the breathtaking Kirkstone Pass—be sure to have your camera ready. Next, we arrive in Grasmere, where Wordsworth called “the loveliest spot that man hath found.” You’ll have free time to visit Dove Cottage, try the famous gingerbread, or relax in the peaceful Wordsworth Daffodil Garden by the River Rothay.
We then head to Coniston Water, another of the district’s stunning lakes. Take in the fresh air and sweeping views before hopping back on the bus.
Our final stop is Hawkshead, a charming conservation village where William Wordsworth once attended school. With its narrow cobbled streets and whitewashed cottages, it’s a perfect example of Lake District beauty. After some time to explore, we return to Manchester in the early evening.
