Get the thrill of multi‑pitch climbing—without needing years of technical training—on this unforgettable via ferrata at Lake Abraham in Alberta. Designed for intermediate hikers and active beginners, this route uses a fixed safety system so you can focus on movement, confidence, and the views.

Over the course of about 4 hours, you’ll tackle a dramatic 500‑foot cliff using iron rungs, ladders, and a protected cable system. You’ll be outfitted with all required technical equipment (via ferrata lanyard, harness, and helmet) and guided through the experience in a way that keeps the challenge high and the environment controlled. Expect a rewarding mix of climbing and exposure, plus plenty of time to take in the sweeping scenery above the turquoise waters of Lake Abraham.

Once you’ve completed the climbing section, you’ll finish with a hike down to the valley bottom—rounding out the day as a true mountain adventure you can share with friends. This experience is ideal if you have reasonable fitness (think: climbing a ladder, a short run, or a short hike) and you’re ready to push yourself in a safe, supportive setting.

Trips operate Friday to Sunday from May 1 to October 15, with departures at 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Group sizes are kept small (up to 6 participants) for a more personal, hands-on experience. In poor weather, the activity may be adjusted to an alternate adventure such as an Adventure Rappel.
