Visit a traditional Japanese townhouse, known as a machiya, and partake in a tea ceremony while dressed in traditional attire in Kyoto.
First, upon your arrival, an authentic silk kimono will be promptly fitted for you. We will then take as many photos of you as you like within the beautiful machiya.
You will also be guided through Tondaya, a 140-year-old machiya (traditional Kyoto townhouse) designated as a culturally significant landmark by the Kyoto City Government. Tondaya is a treasure trove of historically valuable artifacts and stories, and our knowledgeable staff look forward to sharing its rich history with you.
We will also prepare an authentic Japanese tea ceremony performed by a seasoned tea master. Tea is an inseparable part of Japanese culture. We offer a one-of-a-kind experience of watching a traditional tea ceremony performance in a historically significant machiya―truly immersing oneself in the atmosphere and history of tea ceremony culture.
