Have you ever tried maki-zushi?
Maki-zushi is a traditional Japanese home-style sushi, often enjoyed by families and friends as they gather around the table and have fun choosing their favorite ingredients together.
Seasoned sushi rice and fresh ingredients are placed on a sheet of nori (dried seaweed) and carefully rolled using a traditional bamboo mat.
In this experience, you will learn how to make maki-zushi as well as authentic Japanese miso soup, guided step by step in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
After preparing the sushi together, we will gather around a table inside our beautiful traditional machiya townhouse and enjoy the meal you have created.
Following the meal, we will guide you through our 140-year-old machiya, which is nationally registered as a culturally significant property and offers a glimpse into the rich history and lifestyle of Kyoto.
