What you can expect

Join us on a relaxed and easy-paced day tour to iconic natural attractions near Kutaisi. This itinerary is well suited for travelers looking for a comfortable pace, families with young children, or those who prefer an alternative to longer or more demanding routes.

Your journey begins at the Megobari Tours meeting point in Kutaisi city center, where your guide will welcome you before departing toward western Georgia’s natural landmarks.

First, you will visit Martvili Canyon, famous for its turquoise river, waterfalls, and lush green surroundings. You will walk along an easy circular paved trail of approximately 700 meters, enjoying views of waterfalls and the surrounding nature. One of the main highlights here is the optional boat ride on the emerald-colored river (approximately 15 minutes), offering close-up views of parts of the canyon that cannot be reached on foot. For those seeking extra excitement, an optional zipline is also available at Martvili Canyon (both activities are weather-dependent and paid on site).

Next, continue to the spectacular Prometheus Cave, one of Georgia’s most impressive underground attractions. Walk along a 1.5-kilometer illuminated route through stunning halls filled with stalactites and stalagmites, accompanied by a local cave guide who explains the cave’s formation and features. An optional boat ride on the underground river is available here for an additional fee.

After the cave visit, you will stop for a traditional Georgian lunch at a local restaurant. During the meal, your guide will introduce you to Georgian cuisine and the traditions of the famous “supra”, explaining local dishes, toasting customs, and dining culture (meal paid on site, ordered à la carte).

Before returning to Kutaisi, you will visit one of the abandoned Tskaltubo sanatoriums, a unique urbex-style location from the 1950s–1960s Soviet era. This stop offers insight into Georgia’s recent history and is especially popular for photography.

After approximately 6–6.5 hours, the tour concludes with return to Kutaisi city center, with drop-off at the original Megobari Tours meeting point.
